Magic Hat Brewing Co. – S. Burlington, VT

With all the excitement about the “I Drink New England” Shirts being released yesterday and my first try at beer journalism (please check it out and let me know what you think), I forgot to talk about the We’re Funk’d festival on What’s Goin’ Down!

Night Shift and Springdale put together an awesome first year event with a lot of really fantastic sour and wild beers. The German BSV Center in Walpole was a nice venue with the perfect set up for such and event. Next year should be a must attend for anyone that enjoys a bit of Sour Patch tongue. Only critique, hopefully next year they can get a few more food options and a bunch more porta-potties.

Time to put a wrap on Vermont for the time being, with a stop into an old favorite of mine, Magic Hat Brewing Co.

Burlington Beer Company – Williston, VT

There’s still a whole bunch of Vermont left on the docket. Clearly I’m not still up there, but there’s still plenty of great beer you all should know about! I must keep you drunkards informed!

On to Burlington Beer!

Foam Brewers – Burlington, VT

After having a late breakfast in Burlington last week, we spent some time exploring the waterfront. I’d like to say it was for exercise, but it was mostly because it was still 20-ish minutes before Foam Brewing was going to be open. While there we took a peek at the A_Dog Skatepark, which was hosting a kids skate camp. I bring this up because I heard a statement from a 10-13 year old kid at this park that surprised me, (I assume in reference to a new board) “I found it for cheaper online, but you got to support the local store.” Burlington is for sure a strange city, but there is definitely some things they do right up there.

Beer is definitely another one of those things and Foam Brewers is a big part of that.

Castle Island Brewing – Norwood, MA

This weekend I was quite busy doing fitness with the NE Spahten Ninjas at Ragnar Trail until Saturday, then sleeping/recovering most of Sunday. I didn’t spend my weekend in a taproom like I usually tend to (Although I did plenty of drinking, which you would have seen on my Instagram). I did notice that the new taproom at Castle Island had opened though, and luckily they’re open on Mondays and I’m on vacation this week. Let’s dig in.

Battery Steele Brewing/ Austin Street Brewery – Portland, ME

Today we wrap up the Industrial Way series with not one, but two breweries in one post. The reason for this unprecedented occasion? A) Neither one is particular big, so the taproom description isn’t going to be much and B) after 2 other breweries, picture taking took a drastic turn downward. The A.D.D. of “I should probably take a….Oooo, a DDH IPA!” was real. You know how that goes!

So let’s not waste anymore time and jump right into part three of the Maine Memorial Day saga!

Allagash Brewing Company – Portland, ME

Holy Hell. Memorial Day weekend is in the books and I’ve got a tank full of new spots to give you the low down on!

Did you know that Portland is essentially just one large brewery? I’m amazed anyone can stay sober in that city. Best part is, I couldn’t have gotten a Bud Light even if I tried! Can’t remember a single tap being anything but craft beer. What a great place.

Dorchester Brewing Company – Dorchester, MA

I was starting up the laptop, fully prepared for a Game 3 of disappointment. It was already 3 – 0. I figured the game would make for background noise as I prepare my post for Tuesday. Then Acciari got the tip in. Then Backes makes the goal off Bobby Ryan’s complete fail to wrangle the puck. Then Pastrnak scores on the powerplay and here I am, finally typing during the second intermission.

Before the third starts, let me tell you about Dorchester Brewing!

Mystic Brewery – Chelsea, MA

Game 1 in the books, and the Bruins pulled out a win. It didn’t look pretty, especially with zero shots on goal in the 2nd, but the timely goals by Vatrano and Marchand in the 3rd gave the B’s the W. Most importantly, this kid McAvoy looks good! It’s his first game in the NHL and he played top pairing minutes without any real mistakes. Good to know losing Krug and Carlo indefinitely won’t be as big of a loss as it should be.

Hope you’re prepared for all kinds of fun Bruins commentary if they keep winning. Could be a quite a run!

Today we venture just north of Boston to Chelsea and hit up Mystic Brewing!

Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing – Framingham, MA

Welcome to the first of your newly scheduled “Tuesday Brewsday” guide! I promise that will be the last time I ever use that phrase, and yes I feel slightly douchey for doing it.

This switch to Tuesdays came at the perfect time, since Sunday night was Wrestlemania and was obviously too preoccupied to write. Now, I don’t what wrestling much anymore, those days left with Stone Cold Steve Austin, but I’ll watch the hell out of Mania. Last night’s show was pretty decent, with the Undertaker finally hanging them up by piling his dirty laundry in the middle of the ring and the Hardy Boys coming back as surprise entrants into the 4 way tag team ladder match, but man do I miss that Attitude era. Really need to bring back the blood and sexual situations that once made it great! It’s almost too watered down and predictable now.  We’ll probably never see an 80 year-old woman give birth to a rubber hand again, and that’s a damn shame.

Let’s continue our way around MA this week, with a stop into Exhibit ‘A’.
